Exceptional Pair of Custom-Made Czech Art Glass Floor Lamps – Železnobrodské Sklo, 1994
These two matching floor lamps were specially commissioned in 1994 together with five large chandeliers for a private interior. They were handcrafted and decorated at the Železnobrodské Sklo factory in Železný Brod, Czech Republic, a renowned centre of Czech glassmaking.
Each lamp features six light arms with hand-shaped clear glass elements, delicate hand-painted floral decoration, extensive gilded detailing and numerous hanging blue glass grape clusters. The combination of blue glass grapes, floral painting, clear glass and gold decoration gives these lamps a distinctive and highly decorative Czech glass character.
Both lamps retain their original Železnobrodské Sklo identification label.
The original label states:
ŽELEZNOBRODSKÉ SKLO
Model: AK 50 850-9/6/V
348 1 717 916 06 00-90
6 × 40 W / 250 V
The lamps were custom-made and purchased directly after production in 1994 for CZK 12,500 each.
Number of items: 2 matching floor lamps.
Each lamp measures approximately 160 cm in height and approximately 60 cm in width.
Both lamps are in very good original condition and are fully functional. One of the glass bowls has a minor crack. A replacement glass bowl is included with the lamps, so once replaced, both lamps will be in excellent condition.
The glass elements, hand-painted decoration, gilded details and blue glass grape ornaments are otherwise exceptionally well preserved.
This is a unique opportunity to acquire a matching pair of individually commissioned Czech art glass floor lamps, with their original Železnobrodské Sklo manufacturer identification and documented 1994 provenance.
