Rare hand-blown Murano art glass basket, Italy, circa 1955–1965.
This elegant and unusual basket features a finely scalloped opaline white bowl, a sculptural twisted pink handle and a striking black, amber and white spiral base.
The combination of the radial ribbon decoration and the beautifully shaped handle makes this a much less common example than standard Murano baskets from the period.
Unsigned, but stylistically consistent with high-quality Murano production of the late 1950s and early 1960s.
A beautiful decorative object that works equally well as a centerpiece, fruit basket or collector’s display piece.
