An exceptional and rare pendant lamp with a spherical shade made of translucent Plexiglas featuring a striking bubble relief. The surface consists of densely arranged, hemispherical elements that form a ring around the entire body, creating a three-dimensional, almost sculptural light structure. When switched on, it emits a softly diffused, atmospheric light with a fascinating interplay between transparency and reflection. Despite its volume, the 32 cm sphere appears light and almost floating. The construction consists of a centrally guided metal rod with its original suspension and black coiled cable – a typical detail of the 1970s. The relief structure is reminiscent of Space Age designs from this era and stylistically occupies a space between Pop design and futuristic lighting architecture. A distinctive statement piece that makes an impressive impact both as a standalone piece and when installed in a series.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related patina on the suspension. Minor soiling on the upper interior and minimal signs of wear on the plastic. Structure stable, no visible structural cracks. Electrical components functional.
Dimensions: Sphere: L32 x W32 x H32 cm
Total height without sphere: H65 cm
