Superb antique ironstone compote dish from the Longchamp pottery, "Daisies" pattern, polychrome, very rare, late 19th/early 20th century, circa 1890-1910. Magnificent romantic, bucolic Art Nouveau decoration of daisies, foliage, grasses, and scrolls in dark pink transfer, delicately hand-embellished with shades of fuchsia pink, mauve, nuanced green, yellow, and brown. The slightly scalloped rim and simple foot enhance the elegance of the interior and exterior decoration.
23cm in diameter, 12.3cm high, 11cm diameter at the base, and approximately 5cm deep. Exceptional condition, near mint for a piece of this age. Very few and light scratches from use on the interior, a few natural cracks in the glaze at the base, and minute traces of patina on the bottom, very discreet. Approximately 550g.
