Product description
A splendid and authentic colander (or fruit bowl) in fine Bassano ceramic, dating back to the first half of the 20th century.
This piece represents a classic example of Venetian artisan excellence, combining domestic functionality and refined decorative art.
The object features a hemispherical body resting on three contoured feet, completed by two elegant "curly" handles.
The white glaze is enriched with a characteristic natural crackle effect that attests to its age and enhances its vintage charm.
Decorative Details:
Floral Motif: Entirely hand-crafted polychrome decoration featuring vibrant flowers in shades of purple, carmine red, and cobalt blue, surrounded by bright green foliage.
Edge: Upper edge finished with a Greek key with small blue lines.
Authenticity Marks: The blue factory marks are clearly visible on the inside bottom: the rectangular stamp with the basket logo and the wording "BASSANO," accompanied by the monogram of the workshop/decorator.
STATE OF PRESERVATION
The object is in excellent overall condition for its age.
The patina is authentic; there are no structural cracks or obvious restorations.
Small, light glaze losses on the edges underscore its originality and history.
