An exceptionally rare original Italian fashion exhibition poster from 1982, produced for the international fashion trade circuit in Frankfurt (Francoforte).
This striking large-scale poster was commissioned by Pikenz – Alta Moda Milano as part of the Linea Italiana presentation, a collective label used in the late 1970s and early 1980s to promote Italian luxury fashion abroad. Such posters were created exclusively for professional use at fashion fairs and showrooms and were never offered for public sale.
Printed directly onto a thin aluminum sheet (approximately 1 mm), this piece exemplifies the material experimentation typical of early 1980s exhibition design.
The choice of aluminum—lightweight yet rigid—was intended for temporary architectural display within fashion stands, making surviving examples extremely uncommon.
The imagery captures the bold elegance of early 1980s Italian haute fashion: sculptural silhouettes, luxurious textures, and a confident, theatrical presence that reflects the era’s aesthetic at its peak.
The typography and graphic layout are period-correct and untouched by later branding conventions, reinforcing its authenticity.
