A unique set of four original Amanta armchairs from 1972 with Lufthansa history. Expertly restored and reupholstered in luxurious Romo Black Edition jacquard.
For sale is an exceptional ensemble of four modular lounge armchairs of the "Amanta" model, designed by the iconic Mario Bellini in 1966.
This is the rare early version produced by C&B Italia (now B&B Italia). Thanks to the original connectors, the armchairs can be flexibly arranged as a spacious four-seater sofa, two two-seaters, or as a standalone lounge group.
History & Provenance (Lufthansa Lounge)
This set is a true piece of history. According to tradition, it comes from the exclusive furnishings of a Lufthansa airport lounge in the 1970s.
Authenticity is underscored by specific details:
• Dating: Two shells bear the original 1972 production stamp.
• Securing: Some of the undersides feature the precise 3 mm holes for floor anchoring typical of lounge furniture.
• Heavy-duty connectors: The set includes the heavy-duty iron connectors from the early series as well as plastic connectors.
