From the private collection of architect and artist Erol Oztan, going from 300 to 30 m².
Iconic RAR (Rocking Armchair Rod Base) designed by Charles & Ray Eames. The chair belongs to the famous fiberglass shell series and combines an organically shaped shell with the characteristic steel Eiffel base and wooden rocker rails. The model was developed as part of the first industrially produced plastic chairs and is considered one of the most recognizable designs of American mid-century modernism. This particular example features a dark gray to black-brown fiberglass shell with a distinct fiber structure, which is typical of early production series. The combination of the shell with the wire steel base and wooden rockers makes the chair both sculptural and functional.
Condition: Good vintage condition. The fiberglass shell shows signs of wear and light scratches consistent with age and use. Base stable and complete. Wooden rocker rails show slight wear. Structurally sound. Valuation by INBOEDELTAXATIES.NL: €800–€1,000
