An original Italian Chiavari chair from the 1950s. This design combines a refined silhouette with rich materials, making it a recognizable piece of post-war Italian design history.
The chair is crafted from solid brass and features a high, ornate backrest with a detailed shell motif on the top. Both the seat and the oval backrest have recently been reupholstered in a deep green velvet fabric. The brass frame displays the authentic patina befitting the object's age.
The furniture is in good, functional condition while retaining its original character. The recent reupholstering ensures renewed seating comfort, while the frame bears the marks of time.
This design comes into its own perfectly in a Hollywood Regency or eclectic interior. It functions well as a striking accent chair in a bedroom, hallway, or living room, where the brass and velvet add a classic touch. Mid-Century and fits perfectly in a boudoir. Additional information: a magnificent piece, the crossbar on the back left of the seat is loose but is still connected (can be repaired by an enthusiast or craftsman, see photo), hence the sharp price.
