Rare Hallesche Form vase Design: Marguerite Friedländer-Wildenhain Gold Decor: Trude Petri KPM Berlin 1931-1932 Height 10 cm Width 17.5 cm For the Hallesche Form service, the sculptor, painter and designer Trude Petri created the famous Gold Rings decoration in 1931, whereby the service was gilded by hand. This congenial decoration was unique and exemplary at the time, as it differed from historical decorations; the golden circles were probably influenced by the turning process on the potter's wheel. Marguerite Friedländer-Wildenhain (Lyon 1896 - 1985 Guerneville) Marguerite Friedländer joined the Bauhaus on October 15, 1919, after studying at the Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst Berlin and working as a decor designer in a porcelain factory in Rudolstadt. From 1920-25 she worked in the ceramics workshop in Dornburg under Max Krehan. In 1925, she moved to the Burg Giebichenstein School of Arts and Crafts in Halle, where she worked as a specialist teacher and head of the pottery workshop.
