F.A. Porsche for Poltrona Frau – “Antropovarius” Lounge Chair with Matching Ottoman – Light Grey Leather
Rare “Antropovarius” chair designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche for Poltrona Frau, one of the most iconic examples of Italian ergonomic design from the 1980s.
This piece comes complete with its original matching ottoman and is upholstered in elegant light grey Poltrona Frau leather, a sophisticated and contemporary tone that is much rarer than the classic black version.
The chair is in excellent vintage condition:
* leather remains soft and beautifully preserved
* the reclining back mechanism is fully functional and precise, which is increasingly rare on this model
At some point, the original castors and swivel office base were professionally removed in order to transform the piece into a true domestic lounge chair.
This modification makes the chair more stable, more comfortable, and much more suitable for contemporary living interiors while preserving its extraordinary ergonomic design.
The famous articulated “vertebral” backrest system, developed through advanced ergonomic research, remains fully operational and offers exceptional comfort.
Designed by F.A. Porsche — creator of the Porsche 911 — the Antropovarius has become a highly collectible design object appreciated by both vintage furniture collectors and contemporary interior designers.
