This exceptional wall lamp from the 1970s comes from the renowned Italian glass manufacturer Poliarte and was designed by Albano Poli. It is an impressive example of the brutalist design approach of that era, where raw materials and striking structures are deliberately showcased, and it is in very good condition. Each lamp is unique; no two are alike.
The characteristic element of the lamp is the massive, textured glass plate with a wavy surface, which refracts and diffuses light in a fascinating way. In combination with the dark, sculptural raw iron body, an exciting contrast of transparency and weight is created – typical of Brutalism. The lamp can be hung vertically or horizontally.
When switched on, the lamp creates a warm, atmospheric light with lively reflections in the glass, which convinces both as functional lighting and as a decorative statement.
The master glassmaker Albano Poli designed and manufactured this lamp in the 70s for his company Poliarte.
