Offered: a postmodern design ceiling lamp by Philips from 1989.
This special lamp is designed with minimal use of materials, yet offers a surprising number of lighting possibilities.
The light source is located behind a rotatable, diffuse disc that allows the light beam to be easily directed in the desired direction.
The opening in the disc has the same diameter as the light beam, creating direct lighting.
Additionally, the lamp is equipped with a reflector that can be clicked into the opening of the disc.
This prevents glare and makes it possible to create indirect lighting as desired.
The frosted part of the disc catches the scattered light, creating an atmospheric and decorative lighting effect.
The Manhattan series was awarded the Norwegian Design Prize and is considered an iconic example of postmodern design from the late eighties.
The lamp is made of anthracite-colored metal and plastic and features a blue plexiglass disc, which makes a significant contribution to the appearance and atmosphere of the light distribution. Model: QCG 200 Manhattan from the Creative Line series
