SARAPIS – Bar Stool: An iconic design and a modern classic of postmodernism.
The legendary architect and star designer Philippe Starck presented the design in 1985. The name "SARAPIS" was borrowed from Egyptian mythology.
Only one SARAPIS bar stool is available!
NOTE REGARDING THE PHOTOS: One image shows the designer and his work, another is a screenshot from the cult TV dating show "HERZBLATT" with the unforgettable host Rudi Carrell, in which the stools also made an appearance! These images are for informational purposes only!
The stools also played a role in the legendary science fiction series "STAR TREK"!
CONSTRUCTION:
Very strict, minimalist geometric design. Frame made of square steel tubing with a steel sheet seat and solid, chrome-plated "pins" as footrests.
Arc-shaped backrest made of spring steel and round steel.
Color of the painted or powder-coated steel parts: black-gray metallic
Marking: on the underside, manufacturer's label present!
CONDITION:
Used furniture – the bar stool is in very good condition!
Only very minor signs of age and use!

DESIGNER:
Philippe Patrick Starck (born 1949 in Paris) graduated from the École Nissim de Camondo.
In addition to his entrepreneurial activities, Starck worked as an art director, designing extravagant furniture and products for a number of the world's most renowned manufacturers. He is considered a leading figure in France's "New Design" movement and was the first superstar of the design world at that time.
In 1980, he was commissioned by then-French President François Mitterrand to design the private apartments in the Élysée Palace.
We owe some of the most extraordinary and sought-after design objects of the 20th century to his vivid imagination—obtained with countless awards and admired in museums and exhibitions worldwide.
MANUFACTURER:
The furniture company DRIADE was founded in Piacenza in 1968. It is a key player among the prestigious northern Italian companies that have consistently provided new impetus to furniture design at a high level of quality.
ALEPH is DRIADE's legendary design collection. Since many avant-garde pieces from the Aleph collection are no longer in production, they are now highly sought-after collector's items.
