Oil pastel on paper. Painting by the Dutch artist and sculptor Peter Engelen. Purchased through a safe. Dimensions including frame are 67x46 cm.
Peter Engelen belongs to the top of the small group of contemporary animaliers in the Netherlands. Peter Engelen specializes in sculpting animals, horses and predators are his preference. From 1988 to 1990 he studied at the University of the Arts in Utrecht and from 1990 to 1991 at the University of the Arts in Tilburg. His images can now be seen at major art fairs such as the Tefaf in Maastricht and the PAN in Amsterdam. Peter Engelen has been represented by Kunstzaal van Heijningen in The Hague since 2009.
