Incredible MP-81 three seater sofa in original yellow leather by Percival Lafer, Brazil 1970s
A highly comfortable an striking design. The structure of the seats is composed of two fiberglass shells welded together to create a single, rigid element. The solid jacaranda wood feet are attached to the structure by previously made wooden screw nuts, which can be tightened or disassembled. The back feet comes with two pins which hold the headrest, and therefore it becomes removable when wished.
The sofa comes in its original yellow leather with rich patina, enhancing the character of the sofa. This design is a highly sought after model which combines comfort and breathtaking design.
Móveis Lafer, where Percival designed a wide range of products, played a substantial role in Brazilian furniture in the second half of the 20th century. Innovations in technique and form resulted in standardised elements reused in different product lines, with solutions such as demountable and easy-to-transport products.
