This vintage coffee table is a design by the Dutch artist Paul Kingma, manufactured in 1961. The piece is characterized by the robust use of materials and the unique, handmade composition typical of Kingma's early work.
The tabletop consists of a heavy concrete base, in which various pieces of natural stone are inlaid in an abstract pattern. The combination of grey, black, and brown tones gives the top an earthy and organic character. The whole rests on a sleek, black metal base that forms a beautiful contrast with the heavy top. The date '1961' is clearly engraved in the concrete, confirming the authenticity of this early example.
The table is in good vintage condition, commensurate with its age and use. Over the years, the natural stone and concrete have developed a beautiful patina, which contributes to the authentic character of the furniture. The construction is solid and fully functional.
