A superb pair of B35 armchairs, produced by Thonet in the 1960s, based on the iconic design by Marcel Breuer, a central figure of the Bauhaus movement.
Originally designed in 1928 and presented at the Grand Palais in Paris in 1930 as part of the German Werkbund exhibition, the B35 armchair was one of the first to introduce the cantilevered design with a tubular steel frame—an aesthetic and functional revolution in the history of furniture.
This faithful 1960s re-edition retains all the qualities of the original:
• Frame: chromed tubular steel
• Seat and back: black leather stretched over webbing
• Armrests: bentwood
• Comfort: characteristic flexibility thanks to the suspension
• Condition: good vintage condition, even patina on the leather, very solid frame
