A pair of beautiful Limoges porcelain religious medallions, glazed pâte-sur-pâte, depicting the Virgin Mary and Christ in profile. These early 20th-century medallions, dating from around 1900-1930, are in the Art Deco style. The Virgin Mary medallion bears a "Limoges" signature at the bottom, while the Christ medallion is unsigned. They are in the style of Marcel Chaufriasse, though without formal attribution. They are presented in their original circular giltwood frames.
They measure 14 cm in diameter with the frames, approximately 11 cm in diameter for the medallions themselves, and are 1.5 cm thick. They are in very good overall condition, with slight natural wear to the gilding on the frames, creating a harmonious patina. Approximately 120 grams each.
