Two large wall plates in handcrafted Talavera de la Reina ceramic (Spain), painted and glazed. Made at the end of the 19th century, they follow the designs of the tricolor series, one of the most prominent in the 16th and 17th centuries, in which each color had a specific use: blue for fillings, orange for stripes or checks within the designs, and purple for outlines. This series marks the first representation of the human figure in Talavera pottery, from soldiers to nobles, as indicated in this case by the bird of prey, a symbol of hunting, and the clothing and headdresses of the figures. In good condition, with some chips as shown in the photographs. Measurements and weight: Female: 33.5 cm diameter and 5.5 cm high. Male: 33.5 cm diameter and 5.5 kg.
