Product description
Two complementary antique Japanese Imari plates (Arita porcelain) from the late Meiji period (c. 1890 - 1910).
Although they share the same scalloped rim, they each display a different, highly detailed hand-painted decoration in the recognizable cobalt blue, iron red, and gold. They complement each other perfectly as a decorative duo!
The unique decorations:
The top plate: Features a beautiful, finely detailed central medallion in underglaze blue with a Japanese Phoenix (Hō-ō bird), surrounded by flowers and geometric patterns.
The bottom plate: Displays a central medallion with a stylized nature or landscape motif, featuring striking red areas on the rim incorporating pagoda-like structures and blossoms.
Condition and Dimensions
Condition: Both plates are in very good antique condition. No cracks, no chips. On the last photo, you can see a small dark spot; this is not damage but occurred during the firing process. Diameter: approx. 21 and 22 cm

Shipping: Will be packed with extreme care, with plenty of bubble wrap and in a sturdy box.
