A beautiful pair of iconic Cesca cantilever chairs based on Marcel Breuer’s celebrated Bauhaus design, produced in Italy during the 1970s and marked “Made in Italy.” The chairs feature the classic combination of chrome-plated tubular steel, shaped beechwood frames and woven natural rattan cane seats and backrests. The continuous tubular steel construction creates the characteristic cantilever profile that made the Cesca one of the most recognizable modernist chair designs of the 20th century. The warm tone and organic texture of the beech and cane contrast elegantly with the polished chrome frames, making the pair particularly suitable for Bauhaus, Mid-Century Modern, modernist and contemporary interiors. Both chairs are in good original condition with minor signs of use and age, retaining an attractive vintage character.
