A pair of armchairs from the Hombre series, designed by Burkhard Vogtherr for Rosenthal and produced as part of the Rosenthal Furniture program.
In 1972, Rosenthal expanded its activities from porcelain to its own furniture collection, manufactured in its own factory in Espelkamp, Germany. Under the Rosenthal Furniture label, the company collaborated with leading designers, including Vogtherr, resulting in distinctive pieces characterized by clear construction, high-quality materials, and clean proportions.
The Hombre armchairs feature solid wood frames with continuous sled legs and gently rounded armrests. Loose leather seat and back cushions are integrated into the frame, clearly revealing the structure while providing a comfortable and relaxing seating experience.
This pair still retains its original gray leather upholstery, with a natural patina and minor signs of wear consistent with age and use. The wooden frames are in very good condition, with a warm finish and no structural defects.
