A splendid pair of Thepphanom, mythological figures from Thai Buddhist tradition representing angels descended to earth to honor the Buddha.
These statues are traditionally considered guardians of the home, bringers of peace and protection.
The figures are depicted in a kneeling position with their hands in the Wai gesture (a sign of respect and greeting). Crafted with a beautiful green patinated bronze finish reminiscent of the ancient style, they are enriched with gold-painted details that highlight the fine embroidery of the ceremonial robes and traditional headdresses.
