Spectacular pair of French à la reine armchairs in the Louis XV style and period, upholstered with an original and elegant zebra print. The frame, made of carved and polychromed wood in an off-white tone, features sinuous lines in its cabriole legs, which end in a small scroll, curved arms, and an undulating molding that runs along the entire frame. The à la reine style is distinguished by its straight back, designed to provide greater poise and comfort. The queen-style armchair is a type of chair characteristic of 18th-century French furniture, associated from its inception with the Louis XV style. It is distinguished by its straight back (unlike the cabriolet, which is curved), open arms, and cabriole-shaped legs. It was a parlor chair, designed for high-society women, combining elegance and comfort.
Delicate floral and vegetal carvings adorn the wood, subtly outlining the backrest, which is topped with a shield, as well as the arms and the seat valance.
