Two white opal glass Arcopal mugs, adorned with official licensed Haribo decoration. Haribo was founded in 1920 in Bonn by Hans Riegel, who gave his name to the brand. The famous Golden Bears were created in 1922. The brand established itself in France in the 1960s-1970s and quickly became a household name. In the 1980s, it extended its image to promotional merchandise, including these licensed mugs produced by Arcopal. These series were distributed as premiums or sold in supermarkets, at a time when Haribo confectionery was ubiquitous in French snacks. Each mug features the brand's dog mascot in a different scene: one under a radiant sun, wearing blue overalls, the other in the rain with a multicolored checkered umbrella. The "HARIBO" logo is printed in yellow on each piece. Opal glass, light, resistant, and with a characteristic milky white appearance, is the signature of Arcopal, a French manufacturer that produced this type of series for many major brands between 1970 and 1990. The interior is plain white. The condition is excellent, the colors are vibrant and show no wear. A collector's item at the intersection of vintage tableware and 1980s retro advertising.
