Beautiful pair (pendant) of antique vases made of authentic Bohemian satin glass / Bristol style, dating from the late Victorian period (circa 1890 - 1910).
This identical pair of vases is in excellent, undamaged condition. Because vases from this period were made as sets at the time for the mantelpiece or sideboard, a complete and matching pair is highly sought after by collectors today.
Features & Details:
Material: High-quality, mouth-blown satin glass. The glass underwent acid treatment after blowing, resulting in the characteristic, velvety, and matte finish.
Decoration: Fully hand-decorated with thick, tactile enamel paint in a rich floral motif (bright red and white flowers with bluish leaves). Finished with refined gold accents.
Craftsmanship: The bottom of both vases features an authentic, rough pontil mark (the navel of glassblowing), proving that this is pure handiwork. Markings: Hand-painted on the bottom with model/decoration number 384 and the unique initials of the master painter.
Dimensions: Height: 29 cm, Opening diameter 10.5 cm, Base diameter 10 cm.
Condition: In very good antique condition. No chips, cracks, or restorations. The glass is clear, and the enamel colors have remained beautifully deep and are still present in their entirety. This is very exceptional given the age. The only point to note is that some dust has collected at the bottom of the base over the years, which can certainly still be cleaned.
A magnificent and atmospheric pair for the lover of antique European glassware.
Due to the fragility of the antique glass, pickup is strongly preferred. Shipping is possible, in which case the vases will be packed extremely carefully and thickly in bubble wrap (risk and costs for the buyer).
