This is a set of two antique English armchairs from the late Victorian period, circa 1870–1900. The chairs stand out for their stately silhouette and the characteristic large curved armrests with graceful scroll ornaments.
The armchairs feature a dark wooden frame, presumably mahogany, and rest on turned and carved front legs fitted with classic metal casters. The high, tufted backrest is upholstered in a light blue moiré silk striped fabric dating from the late 1970s. The combination of the dark wood and the soft blue hue gives the whole a stylish appearance.
The set is in solid condition, befitting its age, with a beautiful patina on the wood. The upholstery shows signs of use, and the chairs offer an excellent basis for reupholstering to fully personalize them to your own taste.
These armchairs look particularly good as a pair in a classic living room, an atmospheric library, or next to a fireplace. They instantly add a touch of historical charm to the room.
