Rare antique pair of dog figurines made from hand-painted porcelain, so-called 'poodle dogs' or whore dogs, from the Jugendstil or Art Nouveau period, Germany, late 19th century.
The dogs have a large blue bow around their neck and each has a basket in their mouth containing puppies and kittens that are gilded, the statues are numbered at the back.
Both statues are in excellent antique condition considering the material and age, the right dog has a small chip and a hairline crack in the base, the left dog also has a small chip from the edge of the base, the gilding of both statues has faded , but nothing disturbing, check the photos for more details!
