An exceptional pair of modernist tubular steel armchairs manufactured in Czechoslovakia during the 1970s. Heavily influenced by international Bauhaus traditions and contemporary Italian avant-garde design, these chairs boast a sophisticated architectural skeleton composed of fluid, continuous chromed steel tubing. The curved backrest and seamlessly integrated upholstered arm pads provide superb ergonomic support.
The chairs have undergone a comprehensive aesthetic restoration. The industrial chrome plating remains in brilliant condition, showing a beautiful reflective luster with minimal signs of age. To complement the cool tone of the metal, the suite has been entirely newly reupholstered in a luxurious, dark charcoal-black bouclé fabric with a pronounced, nubby texture. This juxtaposition of industrial metalwork and rich tactile textile makes this authentic set a magnificent addition to any high-end mid-century modern office, conference room, or minimalist dining space.
Condition Report:
Excellent professionally restored condition. The tubular steel frames are completely sturdy, stable, and have been polished to a brilliant shine. All padded components feature brand new, high-grade textured bouclé upholstery.
