For sale is an original antique mirror from the Historicist period (circa 1880–1900).
This stately pillar mirror (trumeau) impresses with its timeless elegance in the classic Louis XVI style and is in exceptionally good condition.
• Magnificent frame: Richly ornamented wood/stucco frame with fluted vertical grooves and a fine, continuous beaded border.
• Original gilding: Very beautiful, even, and authentic gold patina without any significant wear or modern overpainting.
• High-quality beveled edge: The mirror glass has an elaborately ground, wide, genuine beveled edge that refracts the light beautifully.
• Verifiably antique: The back shows the period-typical, dark-patinated solid wood paneling with original corner reinforcements and original hanging hardware (not a modern MDF/plywood replica).
• Condition: Excellent antique condition. The stucco is sound, and there are no chips or cracks in the frame. The miters are perfectly stable.
Dimensions (including frame):
• Height: 156 cm
• Width: 61 cm
A real eye-catcher for the hallway, above a chest of drawers, or in the living area, which blends perfectly with both classic and modern interior design styles (e.g., period charm, French country).
