A rare and authentic piece of Danish Modern history.
This is an original studio drawing by the legendary Jens Harald Quistgaard (1919-2008), dated June 30, 1961. Quistgaard was the visionary lead designer for Dansk Designs and a central figure in making Danish design a global phenomenon.
The Artwork: The drawing is an authentic carbon copy (karbonpapir) from the design process. In the 1960s, these carbon transfers were used to create high-fidelity duplicates of master sketches in the studio. The result is a striking, deep blue rendering with a tactile, raw energy that only a physical carbon transfer can provide.
