Designed by Danish designer Erik Buck in the classic Mid-Century style. Buck's designs are characterized by an organic and flowing design language. The No. 49 chair (designed in 1949) was one of Buck's early successes. The model is distinguished by its seemingly floating seat.
During his career, Buck was virtually unknown, which is why little information about the designer has survived. Even his year of death is not definitively known (1973 or 1982). His work was only rediscovered with the revival of Scandinavian Mid-Century design.
