Very rare Hala Zeist floor lamp by H. Busquet, 1955
This super rare no. 12 Sun Series ‘Zonneserie’ floor lamp was designed by H. Busquet for Hala Zeist in 1955 and is considered one of the most iconic and sought-after pieces from the Sun Series with its elegant conical shade. The interior of the shade retains its original Hala Zeist sticker, adding to its authenticity. The design is timeless, with a matte yellowish and black lacquered metal finish, complemented by a distinctive “Eiffel” weighted base.
The floor lamp offers exceptional functionality, with an adjustable arm that allows for multiple positions, making it perfect as a reading light or for indirect lighting. A white metal filter inside the shade can be rotated, controlling the amount of light and creating beautiful, sunbeam-like effects—a feature that gave the Sun Series its name.
In good condition, with some scratching on the shade, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to own a piece of mid-century design history. The original on/off switch has been removed, adding a new square metal connection to the shade.
* More floor and table lamps from the Sun Serieson offer (even another no. 12 in matte greenish gray), making it possible to create a stunning matching set.
Wear consistent with age.
