Nicola Rozemeijer (born 1955 in Amsterdam and lives and works in Utrecht) attended the academy in Amersfoort (1st gr) and the Royal Academy in 's Hertogenbosch. Initially she made large sculptures of clay, wood and metal. In addition, she has always painted and drawn and, just like with her images, she knows how to evoke a mysterious atmosphere. She finds inspiration everywhere. All kinds of thoughts and observations can give rise to a series of works. People, animals or things, really nothing special. She works on canvas or paper, large or small format. where the first draft is intuitive and the material determines the course. When the work of art asks for it, she intervenes more emphatically. The paintings are sometimes figurative and emphatic, sometimes more abstract in nature. The drawings are more intimate in nature due to the technique. Rozemeijer's work is also characterized by a great diversity in images. Nowadays she mainly paints industrial work. Nicola Rozemeijer exhibited in countless places. She received a stipend on a number of occasions and her work is included in various collections.
