Nice Vintage Kokeshi. This is a kokeshi, a traditional, handmade Japanese wooden doll with a cylindrical body and a spherical head, but without arms or legs. These dolls originated in the 19th Century in the Tōhoku Region of Northern Japan and were made by woodworkers as children's toys and souvenirs for visitors to hot springs.

Styles: There Are Two Main Styles:
Dento (Traditional): Simple designs with specific patterns that vary by region, such as the Naruko Style.
Sosaku/Shingata (Creative/Modern): These dolls, which became popular between 1950 and 1970, feature freer forms and artistic decorations.
