Nice Sanjo Tsubaki Kokeshi. This is a creative or modern kokeshi, as it does not have the standard cylindrical shape of the classic styles, but represents a stylized figure with a loose, almost floating head on a thin neck. The kokeshi wears a kimono with a detailed depiction of a pagoda or temple complex. It has a carved or applied element resembling a traditional Japanese parasol. On the cylinder next to the figure, Japanese calligraphy (text) with the text "三條椿" (Sanjo Tsubaki) is visible. This could refer to a specific location (such as Sanjo in Kyoto) or a craft workshop/artist. It is a Decorative Objects that combines elements of Japanese culture and landscapes in a compact, artistic design. The doll is a Bobblehead, so its head can wobble and rotate 360 degrees. The height is 14 cm, for the condition please see the photos. Please note: kokeshi dolls are not new, so there will always be scratches, discolorations and/or cracks to a greater or lesser extent.
