This is a vintage ashtray, made from Murano glass. The piece is a characteristic example of the 'Sommerso' technique, where layers of colored glass are encased in a clear outer layer, a method made famous by the glassblowers of Murano. The object features a deep cobalt blue color in its core, enveloped by a thick layer of clear and slightly smoky glass.
