This is a refined bedroom set, designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe in 1958. The furniture is a characteristic example from the 'Japanese Series', known for its sleek, minimalist lines and modular design. The set consists of a wall panel that functions as a headboard, a floating bedside table with a drawer, and a floating dressing table with a foldable mirror. The construction is made of warm teak veneer, combined with white formica surfaces that provide a clear contrast. The black, integrated handle is a subtle but characteristic detail of Braakman's design vision for this series. The whole is in very good condition, with a patina that corresponds to its age and careful use. The original finish of the wood is well preserved and shows the rich grain of the teak. The mirror is clear and the mechanisms function properly. Thanks to its floating design, this set creates a spacious and tidy feeling in the bedroom.
