Splendid vintage ceramic wall bird, a major workshop piece by the renowned Namur ceramist Monique Detry (Detry family). This collector's item perfectly embodies her modernist and sculptural style of the 1970s/1980s.
It features a strong technical contrast between a smooth white enamel with a delicately crackled finish and a deeply incised raw terracotta base. The piece is distinguished by precious golden highlights that emphasize the structure of the wings and the insertion of emerald green enameled glass forming the eye's rhinestone, a key technical signature of her craftsmanship.
Note to collectors: the reverse side features the official monogram "HD" hand-incised and not "MD". This historical mark corresponds to the family lineage's stamp (Hubra-Detry / heritage of Hubert Detry), used as an authentic seal by the workshop to sign creations.
