Mid-century wardrobe cabinets, designed by Belgian designer Willy Van Der Meeren for Tubax in the early 1950s. Each cabinet features two lacquered metal sliding doors in original paint, paired with elegant sculpted wooden handles. The bodies combine black lacquered metal frames with wooden panels, creating a bold industrial–modern contrast. Inside, each unit includes a hanging rod and metal shelves for practical storage. All cabinets remain in very good original condition with beautifully preserved surfaces. Priced individually.
Willy Van Der Meeren was a pioneering figure in Belgian post-war modernism, celebrated for his commitment to functional, affordable social furniture. Using industrial materials such as metal and plywood, he created designs that balanced utility with refined, architectural aesthetics. His collaboration with Tubax marked a pivotal contribution to public and institutional interiors throughout Belgium. Today, his work is prized for its innovative spirit and timeless modern character.
