Harry Bertoia has created some of the most outstanding pieces of the 20th century. He has combined different media within the boundaries of fine art and design, revealing an interplay between two and three-dimensional works. In addition to function, he explored the relationship between space and form. In 1952, he designed his ‘Bird’ chair for Knoll, a sculptural work of vinyl-coated bent and welded steel rod construction. The chair’s trademark also indicates that it is an early edition, which is further confirmed by its details. The steel structure has several surface scratches, stains and rust. Dimensions: Chair: 96 x 80 x 102 cm, Sh.: 35 cm /// Ottoman: 59 × 41.5 × 34.5 cm
