The book is almost 40 years old so there may be some scratches and minor stains but all in all the book is in very good conditon
Established in 1900, the Tokyo Dental College is the oldest dental school in Japan. First based in Kanda, in 1929 a large, new research institute was built in the Suidobashi as part of the campus. Fifty years later, the building has become outdated, but was still cherished by the administration and students of the school. Having been awarded the Ihei Kimura award in 1978, she was chosen to create a record of the building and its environs. She spent a year observing the students and teachers; the resulting book is a beautiful hommage to history and spirit of the institution.
"Ishiuchi Miyako (b.1947, Gunma) grew up in a Japan whose culture had been infiltrated by the military occupation after Second World War. She is one of a renowned group of Japanese photographers, including Shomei Tomatsu and Daido Moriyama who confronted the trauma of post-war Japan and the dawning of a new era expressed in their photographs. During the past forty years she has built an extensive oeuvre shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions all over the world."--FOAM International Photography Magazine
