Product description
Set of 2, mid-century, vintage, Scandinavian-style nightstands, circa 1960s.
The nightstands are made of wood, with a beautiful, dark, rosewood veneer and lacquered finish. All of the legs are made of solid wood and have a dark, glossy finish that ranges between a warm to dark, rich, brown color, depending on the angle or light in which they are viewed.
The two front legs on each nightstand have a carved design that finishes with their original, brass-colored feet tips. The two back legs are tapered with brass-colored leg tips as well (see photos).
Each nightstand has one drawer, with an original, brass-colored pull knob with an oval-shaped design: one facing up, and one facing down (see photos). Both drawers open and close perfectly, and the interiors have their original, sky blue-colored felt, with light signs of age and use commensurate with time (see photos).
The nightstands are in overall good, original, and vintage condition with some light marks and normal signs of age and previous usage commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time on the tops (see photos with a 1 cent coin for perspective), pull knobs, legs, sides, edges, and overall structures (see photos), but nothing that affects their functionality or cool look. A small lack of veneer at the bottom left-hand side of one of the drawers (see photo).
Please note: All photos were intentionally taken in outdoor natural light, in different settings, to show the changes in range of color, depending upon the change or brightness of light, reflections, angles, and perspective in which they're viewed. Please also note that due to the lacquered finish on the surfaces, certain images may show more reflections of stone or other materials from the surrounding environment in which the photos were taken.
The nightstands are solid, sturdy, and stable. They have only been gently cleaned with respect to the original patina of time. The beautiful, lacquered rosewood veneer remains sleek and smooth.
A maker’s mark is present.
Not only a great pair of nightstands to use as intended in a bedroom, but they can also work very well in a smaller living space, loft, den, or living room, as small accent, side, phone, or plant tables that will only complement any given mid-century, vintage, or other interior space.
Note: The legs can and will be disassembled for shipping purposes. No tools required to reassemble.
The proposed shipping cost is for two separate packages, as the nightstands are heavy (approximately 12 kgs each).
