Beautiful and authentic Mid-Century Modern cylindrical vase by the renowned Italian ceramics studio Fratelli Fanciullacci. This object dates from the 1950s or 1960s and is in fantastic vintage condition. The vase is executed in a sgraffito technique, in which a horizontal pattern of lines has been scratched into the white glaze layer. The front features a beautiful, stylized horse in glossy, relief gold glaze. The back is decorated with a more subtle, complementary botanical motif of gold-colored leaves. The base is numbered with the official model number 6641, including the corresponding studio serial codes. On the back (below the leaf motif), there is a small glaze imperfection embedded in the kiln. This is an authentic production defect from the studio's kiln. The spectacular gold side with the horse is completely intact. The gold is perfect and shiny on both sides.
