This Mid-Century Modern floor lamp from the 1960s is a striking piece of design with three adjustable shades. The slender, black silhouette and brass details give the lamp a timeless look characteristic of the modernism of that period. This elegant three-arm tripod floor lamp is a fine example of the sculptural lighting that emerged in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The slim tripod base, the asymmetrical composition, and the individually adjustable shades give the lamp a refined architectural appearance, while simultaneously providing functional and focused lighting. The lamp is crafted from black metal and features subtle brass accents at the hinge points of the shades. The three shades can be aimed independently of each other, ensuring versatile light distribution. The lamp stands on a sturdy, round metal base and is equipped with a foot switch and a European plug. Because the original base plate was missing, a discreet counterweight was added to the underside. This modification is invisible during normal use and ensures excellent stability. The lamp requires 3 B22 bayonet sockets. B22 bulbs are still widely available today, including modern energy-efficient LED versions, making the lamp perfectly suitable for daily use. This floor lamp is in good vintage condition, with an authentic patina and some paint wear here and there (on the structure, not on the lampshades), consistent with its age. The original finish has been preserved, contributing to the character of this piece. A refined statement piece that fits effortlessly in a living room, a reading nook, or an architecturally designed interior.
