For sale: a beautiful, original 3-piece mid-century modern seating group from the 1950s/1960s in Scandinavian design (Danish Modern) – styled after the iconic "Antimott" series by Wilhelm Knoll / Walter Knoll. The set impresses with its delicate lines, the light, well-maintained solid wood, and the striking contrast to the vibrant red upholstery. It is in ready-to-use condition and offers excellent seating and lounging comfort. The set consists of: 1 x Three-seater sofa/daybed: Equipped with the iconic spindle armrests and a completely intact, firm original steel spring suspension (Nosag wave springs). Perfect for use as a freestanding room divider. 2 x Matching armchairs: Beautifully shaped armchairs with elegantly curved, flat wooden armrests and tapered, splayed legs.
Some time ago, the set was professionally reupholstered with a high-quality, coarsely woven red melange fabric. The upholstery is clean, well-maintained, and completely odorless. The collector's highlight: The modern red upholstery was applied directly over the original, historic fabric. Beneath the red fabric lies the undamaged original salmon-colored jacquard upholstery with its period-typical floral pattern from the 1950s/60s – an absolute rarity and a dream for purists, as the original material has been perfectly preserved!
The solid wood frame has been fully treated and is in very good condition with only minimal, age-related patina.
