A striking and highly collectible dining table produced by Tatra in the 1950s, showcasing the elegance and innovation of Central European mid-century design. The maker’s label is partially preserved, adding to its authentic vintage character.
Crafted with exceptional attention to detail, the table features a beautifully figured wood veneer top with rich grain patterns that create depth and visual warmth. The clean lines are softened by subtly curved corners, while the four solid, fully veneered legs provide excellent stability and a refined architectural presence.
The table is extendable using its original patented mechanism, allowing for transformation when additional seating is needed—both practical and true to the era’s forward-thinking design. Fully opened the table is 170cm long.
Condition is very good. The piece has undergone partial restoration, preserving its original character while ensuring full functionality. There is a minor, professionally repaired veneer section (approx. 2 cm) on one of the extension leaves, visible only upon close inspection (please refer to images). Shows some minor age use.
A timeless and versatile statement piece—ideal for both modern and vintage interiors—this table combines craftsmanship, functionality, and distinctive mid-century aesthetics.
