An breathtaking design classic from the world-renowned French luxury maison, Lalique. Designed in 1956 by Marc Lalique, son of the legendary master glassmaker René Lalique, this iconic model titled "Sylvie" (also celebrated globally as the Love Birds or Two Intertwined Doves) embodies the absolute pinnacle of mid-century French crystal artistry.
The piece showcases an exceptional interplay of textures. The bodies of the two nesting doves feature Lalique's signature satin-frosted crystal finish, which flows seamlessly into high-gloss, brilliantly polished transparent crystal wingtips. Crafted from premium heavy lead crystal, the sculpture captures, absorbs, and refracts light in a magical manner.

The underside of the base is hand-etched with the diamond-point signature "Lalique France". The crystal is remarkably clear, bright, and free of any cloudiness or severe flaws. It has stood the test of time beautifully. Please note:
The separate glass inner frog insert (flower holder) is missing, which is highly common for this vintage model and has been factored into the pricing.
Without the insert, the clean organic contours and flowing lines of the doves are highlighted even better, allowing the piece to triumph magnificently as a standalone art sculpture.
