Striking 20th-century oil portrait on panel depicting a mature man with a beard, created by the Belgian artist Robert Colot (1927–1993).
Trained at Saint-Luc in Brussels, Colot is renowned for his character portraits, expressive brushwork, and mastery of impasto. This piece features rich textures with generous paint application and a warm palette of ochres and earth tones set against a deep, dark background. The work showcases strong Post-Impressionist and Expressionist influences typical of mid-century Belgian fine art.
